Here’s A Secret To Instantly Rank On Google | The allintitle: Technique
By Mike Cynar
One of the biggest mistakes SEO firms often make is trying to rank their clients for ridiculously competitive keywords.
In this video, I am going to show you how to rank on page 1 of Google by using a simple, no cost technique that has helped us drive over 1.2 million organic leads to our clients. It’s called the allintitle: technique. Read on, or watch the video below:
This one technique will help you to find low hanging fruit with minimal competition so you can start capturing more leads from day one.
A huge mistake that people often make is that try to rank for keywords that literally have millions of people competing against them. Think about it, if you don’t rank in the top 10 results, then your page may never be seen.
So, why compete with millions of webpages when you can just compete against thousands, or hundreds, or in some cases, as little as 25, or, you guessed it, none?
Let’s dive in. you’re going to love this.
First, write this down. allintitle:
That’s no spaces, all lower case. We’ll come back to this in a minute.
In this case study, we’re going to use a mortgage company as an example.
Imagine for a moment you owned a mortgage business located in Virginia Beach. In a perfect world, you’d want to come up on Google every time someone Googled ‘mortgage loans’.
Let’s Google that and discuss if it’s a reality, and if not, what you can do to move your site to page 1.
According to this, Google is telling us there are about 1.2 billion pages on the world wide web that have some variation of these words ‘mortgage loans’.
Fortunately, that’s not a true representation of the competition. I’ll explain this is a minute.
First, do you see all of these blue headlines? These are hyperlinks, that, when clicked, take you to a webpage.
More importantly, these are what are called ‘Title Tags’. In layman’s terms, the title tag tells Google what that page is about. To me, this is one of the most important factors to consider when trying to rank a page on Google.
How important is it to have the words ‘mortgage’ and ‘loans’ in your title tag (if you want to rank for that)?. Well, you’ll notice Google doesn’t rank a single page without those terms in the title tag.
With that said, now I am going to teach you a simple technique to factually measure competition and how difficult it would be to rank for various terms.
Remember the word I had you write down? You’re going to want to use this a lot.
Here’s what you do. First, in lower case letters, type in allintitle: with NO SPACES. Then, without spacing the first word, type mortgage, then a normal space, followed by loans.
allintitle:mortgage loans
Here’s what you’ll see:
You’ll see at the top of the page that Google is showing about 440,000 results. This is a very accurate picture of how many webpages have those exact words in their title tag. Meaning they are directly targeting those words to rank on Google for.
Can you imagine how limited your odds of ever showing up on Google for that term? You’re competing with companies with monster-sized budgets for internet marketing.
Here we see to people ranking are companies like Quicken Loans, Lending Tree, and Wells Fargo.
Don’t waste your time.
So, what we want to do is use this same tool to see if we can find something less competitive, and easier to rank for.
For example. If you sell mortgages in Virginia Beach, ranking for ‘mortgage loans’ won’t do you any good if your traffic is coming from California or Texas.
But let’s see what happens if we add the city name in our title tag. After all, it’s normal to plug in your city name when Googling things. And hardly anyone in California or Texas is trying rank in Virginia Beach.
So, let’s go back to that alltitle: search and see if things change. All we’re going to do is add the words ‘Virginia’ and ‘beach’.
So, repeat the search by typing ‘allintitle:mortgage loans Virginia Beach’
Now we can see that you are only competing locally, and only against 338 webpages.
Your odds of success are now a reality.
You’d actually want to do a page for every city you do business in. Perhaps Norfolk, Chesapeake, or whatever.
But let’s drill down even deeper and find more money terms that are easy to rank for, and will generate new leads.
Check out these examples:
‘allintitle:mortgage calculator virginia beach’ just 89 competing pages.
‘allintitle:refinance mortgage virginia beach’ just 67 results.
‘allintitle:mortgage loans rates virginia beach’ just 8 result.
‘allintitle:types of mortgage loans virginia beach’ 0 competing pages!
So that’s how you measure competition. You use the allintitle: technique.
